Student Brings Stun Gun Into Tinley Park High School: District 228

The incident happened Monday, March 13. No one was injured. Police were called.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Police were called Monday to Tinley Park High School, for a report of a student who brought a stun gun into the school, the district said.

A female student brought the weapon onto school premises, a district spokesperson said.

"A stun gun was recovered this morning at Tinley Park High School," Bremen District 228 Public Relations Specialist Yasmeen Sheikah said in an email to Patch. "There was no incident prior to recovery, nobody was hurt, and local law enforcement is involved."

The stun gun was discovered Monday morning as the student entered the school, and set off the metal detector. Police were contacted around 12:30 p.m., said Tinley Park Police Chief Matt Walsh. The student was dismissed from school, and will be interviewed by a detective, Walsh added.
