Tinley American Legion Seeks Donations For Christmas With The Recruits
American Legion Post 615 has been asked to host 50 recruits on Christmas Day. They're seeking donations to make it happen.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park American Legion Post 615 will give 50 recruits a place to be together on Christmas Day, and they're hoping for support from the community to make it happen.
The organization has been asked to host 50 recruits from the Great Lakes Training Command for the holiday.
"With this honor comes a great deal of responsibility and support," post leaders shared. "We are humbly asking for support from our friends in the community to make this day the best possible for the newest of our nation's volunteer service members."

The post is seeking contributions of all kinds, including:
FOOD

Store purchased or donated, no home cooking.
- frozen turkey
- frozen ham
- potatoes
- sweet potatoes
- canned green beans
- canned corn
- canned cranberries/sauce
- gravy
- bread
- rolls
- pies/other desserts
ENTERTAINMENT
Everything to be loaned
- video game consoles and games
- laptop computers for remote video chat/Facebook access with friends and family
COMFORT
- Recliners, sofas
FINANCIAL
- Charter bus
- WiFi improvement
- All require checks from businesses/individuals
Any donation checks can be made payable to the American Legion Post 615 and can be dropped at the post, 17423 67th Ct., between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. daily.
