TINLEY PARK, IL — A mesmerizing Tinley Park lights display and last year's winner of ABC7'S Great Chicago Light Fight is back in a big way, and again raising funds for a beloved local nonprofit.

The Hirsch Christmas Lights, 7805 Nottingham Dr., is built to impress yet again, a labor of love for the family of four: Jorilyn and Chris, with sons Kyle and Josh.

"As parents to see the passion in our sons' eyes is amazing," Jorilyn Hirsch told Patch. "They make us so very proud with how hard they work.

"They are very committed to our display, and it's not just at Christmas. They work on ideas, planning and fabrication all year long."

The display might look somewhat familiar—it made headlines as last year's winner of the ABC7 contest, and was featured in a Hallmark+ special—but its designers want visitors to know there's new sparkle to see. As with so much of the display, it has a family touch.

"One of our new additions this year is a 15-foot ornament on our roof that was the boys' trampoline," Jorilyn said. "This trampoline brought our boys many memories over the years, and as a family, we turned it into an ornament. Our 17- and 15-year-old sons designed it, and our family created it together."

Their display is detail-oriented, with personal touches honoring their family and loved ones.

"We take pride in attention to detail, neatness and making our display unique to us," Jorilyn told Patch.

"We have ribbon trees to honor loved ones that we have lost, as well as family fighting diseases currently."

As part of its display, the family encourages donations for animal rescue PAWS of Tinley Park. Last year, the family raised $10,000 for the shelter, which proved essential after a fire damaged the building. The family hopes to raise as much as possible for the shelter this year, and has welcomed its adoptable pups to mingle with visitors. A dropbox for donations is available on-site, as well as QR codes.

The Hirsch family hopes all will stop by, take in the lights, and soak up the holiday spirit. Visitors have come far—even from other states—to see the display in person. The Hirsch family loves seeing guests' wide smiles and eyes light up at their work.

"Come visit our display, dance with the music and lights," Jorilyn said Take a candy cane from the bucket, a beaded necklace or a jingle bell. Make memories year after year taking photos in our face cut out photo board.

"Making memories is our favorite, come and make your own memories."

The display at 7805 Nottingham Dr. is on daily from 5 to 10 p.m. Follow them on Facebook for updates.
