Tinley Fire Department To Host Citizens Fire Academy
Program is held Mondays August 21 to Sept. 25. Applications due by April 28.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park residents hoping to get an insiders' view and education on the Tinley fire department have a unique opportunity.
The Tinley Park Fire Department will once again host its Citizens Fire Academy to teach residents what it’s like to be a firefighter. Topics will include fire suppression, fire prevention, operations, fire equipment and CPR.
Classes will be held on Mondays and will run from Aug. 21 to Sept. 25. Graduation for the class will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Fire Prevention Week Open House.

All applicants must be at least 21 years old, and attendance is mandatory for 75% of the classes in order to receive a completion certificate. All applicants must work or reside within the Village of Tinley Park, and the Village will conduct a background check on each applicant.
