Tinley Park Library Working On Phased Reopening Plan
Book drops will begin May 12, as the library hopes to begin curbside pickup next month.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park Public Library is working on a phased reopening plan, with the first phase beginning next week. There are no current plans to allow patrons inside the library to browse.
Book drops will be open beginning on Tuesday, May 12, according to library Marketing Manager Sarah Schroeder. Schroeder said the book drops will only occur once a week, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
"Books and other materials have to be quarantined for a period of 72 hours, at which point they will be checked in and removed from patrons' accounts," she said.

Library officials hope to begin a curbside pickup program in June. Schroeder said this possibility will "hinge upon several external factors, such as the availability of supplies and the recommendations of state and local authorities."
A timeline for a full reopening has yet to be released.
