Tinley Park Receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village of Tinley Park recently announced it has received the Government Finance Officers Association's (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2022 budget.

The award represents a significant achievement and reflects the village's commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting, according to the village. In order to receive the award, Tinley Park had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget through presentation.

According to the village, these guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.

Budget documents must be rated "proficient" in all four categories, and in the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award — according to the village.

The GFOA also presented a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation to the Village's Finance Department, the village said.
