Tinley Park Set For Summer Lineup Full Of Special Events

Mark your calendars and don't miss some of your favorite events this summer.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village of Tinley Park recently released its lineup of special events planned for the summer.

Concerts, cruise nights, farmers markets and more are in store for downtown Tinley Park this summer.

Kicking off the lineup May 30, check out Cruise Nights Tuesdays through August 29, from 5 to 9 p.m. along Oak Park Avenue, sponsored by VFW Post 2791.

On Saturdays starting June 3 through October 14, the farmers market will be held at the Oak Park Avenue Metra station, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Zabrocki Plaza will be rocking select Saturdays throughout the summer, with the Music in the Plaza series, set for June 10, June 24, July 29, August 12, August 12, September 9 and September 23. Check out the full lineup of bands.

The Village will host this year's Independence Day celebration on July 4 from 4 to 9:30 p.m., with a change of location to the 80th Avenue Metra lot. To be held from Timber Drive to Veterans Parkway, the celebration will include pie-eating contests, fireworks, touch-a-truck, bounces, food and beverages.

The Downtown Tinley Park Block Party returns in its new, 2-day format Saturday, July 15 from 2 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, July 16 from 12 to 7 p.m. Held at the Oak Park Avenue Metra lot and 173rd Street to Oak Park Avenue, the event includes live music, rides, food and beverages.

Don't forget to stroll Oak Park Avenue and check out the newest benches, themed "Industry, Invention, and Progress." Benches will be out May through October.
