TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village Board of Tinley Park adopted an ordinance that will allow for changes in village code for adult-use cannabis dispensaries at Tuesday evening's board meeting.

The ordinance is an amendment to allow minor chances to zoning regulations for adult-use recreational cannabis dispensaries, according to village documents. This includes permitting dispensaries in multi-tenant structures, removing corridor restrictions, and allowing them as a special use in more zoning districts.

The Plan Commission held a public hearing on Aug. 5 and voted 5-0 to recommend the proposed text amendments for approval to the Village Board. The amendment to the zoning code was discussed at the Sept. 7 Board of Trustees meeting, but was voted 6-0 to postpone the item to the next meeting after further review.
