Tinley Park Wins Budget Award

TINLEY PARK — The Village of Tinley Park won an award for its municipal budgeting practices, an honor given by a national association that represents local and state finance officials.

It is the highest form of recognition a municipality can receive for its budget.

Recipients are evaluated in key areas, including how the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and a communications tool.

The village has worked for years to achieve this goal, officials said in a statement.

It is the first year Tinley Park applied for the award.
