Tinley Park's Citizens Police Academy Accepting Applications

The free, 12-week program gives residents an informative and interactive look at the village's police force. Find out how to sign up.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Village residents can gain a better understanding of the Tinley Park police force by participating in the department's 2019 Citizens Police Academy. Applications are now being taken for the free, 12-week program.

The citizens academy will be 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays, running from Jan. 10 to March 28. A graduation banquet for the program will be April 4.

Only residents are allowed to participate in the interactive, hands-on sessions, which are limited to 25 people. Participants must be 21 or older, and the deadline to apply is Oct. 19.
