Tinley's Park District Is Hiring 2 Theater Positions

The Tinley Park – Park District ​is hiring two positions: an art party attendant and theater supervisor, and a theater tech booth operator.

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Tinley Park – Park District is hiring two positions: an art party attendant and theater supervisor, and a theater tech booth operator.

The art party attendant at the Vogt Visual Arts Center (VVAC) and the theater supervisor at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) is a combined position. This part-time position requires a flexible schedule averaging 10 to 15 hours per week. Hours include occasional weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend days/afternoons/evenings. The qualified individual should be able to communicate effectively with the public and represent the operations and policies of the district. Good decision making and leadership skills are a must.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate art parties at the VVAC which include managing and teaching up to 20 children per party different crafts and interactive party activities
  • Supervise VVAC and PAC functions while assisting patrons and answering questions
  • Provide information about upcoming shows, classes and special events to interested guests
  • Operate the PAC ticket booth for events requiring tickets
  • Complete daily office work as assigned by Recreation Supervisor

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR/AED, First Aid Certifications, obtainable

The theater tech booth operator will perform the technical operations of events and rentals at the Tinley Park Performing Arts Center. This part-time position will require a flexible schedule averaging 10 to 15 hours per week. Hours include occasional weekday afternoons/evenings and weekend days/afternoons/evenings. The qualified individual should be able to communicate effectively with the public and represent the operations and policies of the district. Experience working in a theatrical environment is desirable. General understanding of technical systems and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate performance-related equipment at the Performing Arts Center, including lights and lighting control panels, sound equipment, microphones, soundboard, speakers and other technical systems used during performances, movie parties and/or rehearsals.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment, including lighting, sound, and rigging equipment; notify Recreation Supervisor of the need to repair and replacement equipment.
  • Use basic principles to operate computer hardware and applicable software.
  • Utilize proper safety practices and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of high school completed.
