Woman Crashes Car Into Tinley's Physical Therapy & Spine: Manager

A woman in her 60s mistook the gas pedal for the brakes while dropping her mother off to an appointment Tuesday, the manager told Patch.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A woman mistook her gas pedal for the brakes and drove into Tinley Park's Physical Therapy & Spine Tuesday morning, according to manager Bill Curtis. The facility is located at 18215 Harlem Ave., Tinley Park.

Curtis told Patch the woman, who is in her 60s, was dropping her mother off to a physical therapy appointment, and while parking her car, the woman hit the gas pedal, accelerating the car into the front of the building. The car broke multiple windows and damaged exterior bricks, according to Curtis.

Nobody was hurt in the crash, but Curtis, who was standing in the lobby at the time, said it was a shocking moment for staff and patients.

"I've never seen anything like this before. Not in my 18 years that I've had this clinic here," Curtis told Patch. "It was very startling. But fortunately, it could have been worse. And everybody's OK, even the driver of the car and passenger."

The woman's mother wasn't able to attend her physical therapy appointment, according to Curtis.
