Woman Threatens Senior With Castration
A woman who sounded "under the influence of an unknown substance" was incessantly calling a local 81-year-old man last week, police said. She reportedly threatened to castrate him—though she didn't use such formal language—if he didn't return her "blue cell phone." The man was very confused, he said, because he didn't have the cell phone.
The woman called him a total of 11 times between 2:52 p.m. and 3:58 p.m. and left violent, threatening voice mail messages on his answering machine, according to the report. Her speech was slurred and lethargic, police said. When an officer called the phone number the woman was calling from, the suspect answered. She said she had never called the victim's number and that she was trying to call her sister, police said. The victim didn't sign complaints against her.

The 35-year-old Iowa native last saw the vehicle in the lot around 10:15 p.m. Police said that video surveillance shows it being stolen around midnight. The van's owner is the manager for a novelty company that sells items including kids' toys, sunglasses, energy drinks, etc. The products in the trailer retailed at about $150,000, he said.
Paperwork for the rented 2-axle trailer was inside the van, the report said. Police said the video of the theft is grainy but shows someone getting into the van by "unknown means." The person then drives the vehicle away and the camera catches him getting out and allowing someone else to drive. It's followed by a dark-colored passenger vehicle.
