D128 Community Education 2022 Youth Summer Camps

Registration currently taking place.

The District 128 Community Education program is excited to offer a variety of weekly camps for youth - Kindergarten through 8th grade this summer. Registration is currently open.

Camps begin the week of June 13 and run through July 21. Camps will be held in-person and are scheduled to run in the afternoon at either Libertyville or Vernon Hills High Schools. Tuition for the camps runs less than $250.

Offerings in the area of culinary arts include: Baking Boot Camp Basic Training, Cooks + Books Children’s Literature Cooking, Kids Cooking Network and S.T.E.A.M. Cooking Lab. Culinary camps will be led by staff from Sticky Fingers Cooking. Aspiring bakers and you chefs who love to get their hands sticky in the kitchen will love any (or all) of these camps.

Adam Lueken, Computer Science teacher at Vernon Hills High School, will be teaching the Learn To Code Using Robotics, Creating apps and Making Webpages camp. Each student will leave with a finished portfolio webpage of the projects they worked on during camp.

The two theater arts camps will allow students to participate in a musical theater experience where students will act, sing and dance led by the Children’s Theater Company Staff. Showstoppers Summer Camp: The Descendants is geared towards kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Showstoppers Summer Camp: The Greatest Showman is geared towards those in 2nd through 6th grade.
