Did you know that Aug. 6 isΒ National Fresh Breath Day?Β 

Yes, there is indeed a day for everything.Β 

But, as we all know, avoiding bad breath is important β€” that is, unless your goal is to keep people at a safe distance. Then, by all means, rock on with your "bad breath" self.Β 

All joking aside,Β WebMDΒ offers some tips on how to avoid β€” and get rid of β€” bad breath.

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.Β 
  • Avoid drinking too much coffee.
  • Don't drink too much alcohol.Β 
  • Don't smoke.Β 
  • Chew sugarless gum, which WebMD says can help reduce cavities, too.
  • Use sugar-free mints in moderation, and avoid sugary mints.
