Why are you running?

I want to support our kids in the best way that I can and I think my business background would be an asset to the school board.  I am also passionate about ALL of our kids getting the best possible education available to them!

In what ways would the school district benefit from your service?

The school board/district can benefit from my years of business experience. I am very comfortable with budgets, contracts, negotiations and marketing.

What is the biggest challenge the school district faces and what should be done to address it?

I think the biggest current challenge the district faces is the AYP issue. I really don’t know what the answer is, but, I will be attending all the meetings and will play an active role in the discussions.

What do you think the district does well?

I think the district does a lot well! I think the communication between the administrators, teachers and students is very strong. I think the board is also very cohesive and proactive.

What should be some of the school district’s priorities over the next four years?

Support our teachers and students in an economically responsible way.

What else would you like voters to know?

I have two beautiful daughters. One is “gifted” and one has “special needs.” I want to make sure our district supports all of our students no matter what their academic abilities. I am also a proponent of expanding the dual language program through at least 8th grade and preferably through high school.
