Hawthorn Students are 'Girls on the Run'
Hawthorn Elementary School South students are gearing up for a 5K race.

Nearly 60 girls in third through fifth grades are training with the Hawthorn Elementary School South “Girls on the Run” program.
The girls and their teacher/trainers began running twice per week, either before or after school, at the end of February. Their efforts will culminate with the opportunity to run in a 5K race planned for June 1 in downtown Chicago.
Girls on the Run – Chicago is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be healthy and confident while also encouraging positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.
