Liquidation Sales Could Be Underway At Joann Fabrics In Vernon Hills

VERNON HILLS, IL —Closeout sales at soon-to-be-shuttered Joann Fabrics and Crafts stores were reportedly expected to begin this past weekend, according to news reports.

The fabric and craft retailer made the shocking announcement last week that it will be closing 500 stores nationwide after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for a second time this past year. Among stores expected to close is the Joann at 413 N Milwaukee Ave Unit 500, Vernon Hills.

The Cleveland, OH-based company cited rising costs and dwindling demand for its financial difficulties, as more sewists, quilters, knitters and other craft enthusiasts are buying supplies online.

Joann did not divulge when it would start closing stores. Liquidation stores are likely to last for several months.
