New greenhouse opens at Lake Zurich High School

The greenhouse will help students learn skills to help them transition to adulthood

On Monday, a new greenhouse opened at Lake Zurich High School at a ceremony for students, school district administrators and village leaders, according to the Daily Herald.

Students in a special education transition program have planted vegetables and flowers in the greenhouse. The disabled students have graduated from high school, but continue to participate in programs to help them develop life skills.

The $20,000 used to fund the greenhouse was donated by the District 95 Educational Foundation, a privately funded non-profit which supports the district.
