Lake County Sheriff's App will allow push notifications of major incidents and major traffic issues

Sheriff John D. Idleburg is proud to announce the release of a new mobile application for the Lake County Sheriffβs Office. The app is available as a free download from the iPhone and Android app stores.
The appβs timely release will mean the availability of alerts, news, and resources of importance to the Lake County community in the palm of oneβs hand.
Users of the app who live in a village where the sheriffβs office provides contractual policing (Volo, Long Grove, Deer Park, Beach Park, North Barrington, and Lake Barrington) will have the ability to opt-in for alerts in their specific community. Additionally, all Lake County residents will have the ability to opt-in to countywide alerts and news from the Lake County Sheriffβs Office.

While 911 should always be the primary method of reporting an emergency situation, the βSubmit a Tipβ feature enables members of the community to submit a crime tip directly to the sheriffβs office. The tip can be sent anonymously or with contact information, along with photos.
To make it easier for the community to obtain documents, app users will have the ability to easily file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request directly via the app.

Under βJail Information,β users can utilizes the βInmate Searchβ function. There is additional information on the Lake County Jail, visitation, how to put funds in an inmateβs account, bonding information and more.
Search for sexual offenders (provided by Offender Watch) on an easy to access map or by list.
Other important features include obtaining accident/police reports, careers, and press releases. Read and share social media posts from the Lake County Sheriffβs Office via Facebook & Twitter news links.
