Why are you running?

I have been living in the Vernon Hills area for over 12 years now and would like to take this opportunity to serve the community by helping plan the education of the children of the community.

In what ways would the school district benefit from your service?

I want to bring my unique experiences and beliefs to the board table and want to influence the lives of children in a positive way by setting a vision for their education.

What is the biggest challenge the school district faces and what should be done to address it?

The biggest issue the school district faces right now is the AYP standards. There is no short-term solution to this problem. The superintendent is doing a fabulous job in involving the parents and gaining their insights and ideas as to how to address this issue.

What do you think the district does well?

The district does a great job of keeping the parents informed about the various issues and challenges they are facing right now. Communication is very important and they are doing a job of it.

What should be some of the school district’s priorities over the next four years?

The district should strive to maintain high standards keeping in mind the best interests of our children.

What else would you like voters to know?

I will be very committed to working with the other board members towards the common goal of providing the best possible education for our children.
