Sign Up For Hawthorn Mall Bunny Rock 5K, Egg Hunt And After Party

VERNON HILLS, IL — The first annual Hawthorn Mall Bunny Rock 5K race will take place at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13 with an after party and Easter egg hunt. According to a release sent to Patch, the Bunny Rock 5K will feature "egg-stra" special entertainment including 80s rock music at the start and finish lines, and race participants will get a pair of bunny ears, a pair of sunglasses and a runner's t-shirt. Participants who finish the run will also get a finisher's medal.

The race will kick off outside the mall in the Dave & Buster's parking lot, according to a release. Registration fees for the race start at $39.75 and you can sign up online at bunnydash5k.com.

An Easter egg hunt for children ages 2 to 10 will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the Dave & Buster's parking lot (weather permitting). There will also be a live petting zoo, and egg hunt participants will receive bunny ears and sunglasses, an Easter egg basket and, of course, eggs (while supplies last), according to a release. Fees for the Easter egg hunt start at $10 when participants sign up online at bunnydash5k.com.

The after party will kick off at 10 a.m. and run until 12 p.m. at Dave & Buster's, hosted by Hawthorn Mall. The party features a free continental buffet, free face painting and retailer booths with special offers and giveaways, according to a release. Sam Adams will be offering free beer sampling to those over 21 with a valid ID. No RSVP or registration is required, according to a release.
