Silk Asian Tavern Leaves Vernon Hills

Officials say they hope to reopen the restaurant in another location.

Silk Asian Tavern closed its door in Vernon Hills this week, officials announced.

β€œUnfortunately after a year of doing business in Vernon Hills we can not afford to operate at this location. We are exploring a new venue in the north suburbs that will allow us to be more successful,” reads a message to patrons on the restaurant’s website.

The restaurant also shared the news Friday morning on its Facebook pageΒ and Twitter account.

β€œUnfortunately due to a trying economy and financial constraints we are closing doors on Silk Asian Tavern. Our hopes are to find a new location that will enable us to have the success that we all hoped and dreamed for,” its social media noticeΒ said.

Fans are directed to follow the Facebook page and check the restaurant opened in May 2012. The restaurant replaced Silk Mandarin, which had operated in Vernon Hills for more than 20 years.
