Still Time to Give a Token of Appreciation to Bald Volunteers
Nineteen people had their heads shaved March 9 at Hawthorn Mall as part of a St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser. Read on to find out who they were and how you can still support them.
The Vernon Hills Police Department had hoped to raise $10,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation this year. Instead, the volunteers who collected donations as they prepared to have their heads shaved for last weekend's event amassed more than $15,000 for the cause.
The money includes online donations as well as checks and cash collected at the March 9 event at Hawthorn Mall.
And they're still not done. Donations can be made online through March 17.
