Vernon Hills considering video gambling

This is not the first time officials have considered the issue

At a November 15 meeting, Village Trustee Thom Koch suggested that the village board look into the possibility of allowing video gambling, according to the Vernon Hills Review.

Koch later said the Jimmy's on 45 Eatery and Public House was interested in conducting video gambling in their establishment.

The last request to approve video gambling in Vernon Hills was made in 2012 by a restaurant that later went out of business before the matter could be settled.

Nearby Mundeleine, Buffalo Grove and Long Grove have approved video gambling in the last few years. Libertyville officials voted to uphold their ban on video gambling in 2014.

Video gambling will be discussed by the committee of the whole on December 13, after the regular village board meeting.
