Vernon Hills crime summary: 72-year-old woman charged with DUI after crash

Karen Starzyk, a 72-year-old Park Ridge woman, was charged with driving under the influence on November 16 after she was involved in a car crash on Route 45 near Grosse Pointe Circle, according to Vernon Hills Police records. She was also charged with not having insurance, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and making an improper right turn. Starzyk is due in court on December 21.

Police charged 35-year-old Daniel Alvarez-Pimental with taking $399.99 worth of clothes and shoes from the Macy's in Hawthorn Mall on November 18. The Waukegan man has a court date in mid-January.

Christopher Mansbridge, 35, of Worth, and Joseph Williams, 21, of Naperville, were charged with possession of cannabis in separate incidents on 19 November and 20 November respectively. They are due in court on December 8.
