Vernon Hills Summer Celebration: Music, Carnival And More

VERNON HILLS, IL — Vernon Hills Summer Celebration kicks off Thursday, July 18 and runs through Sunday, July 21 in Vernon Hill's Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Parkway. The park opens at 6 p.m. that Thursday with a carnival wristband special, plenty of food, entertainment, music, carnival rides and more to enjoy:

Thursday, July 18

• 6 p.m.: Grounds open
• 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Carnival hours; (wristband special "Mayor's Special")
• 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Free musical entertainment (acts TBA); Century Park
• 9:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.: Fireworks Spectacular

Friday, July 19

• 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Carnival hours; (wristband special "TBA")
• 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Free musical entertainment (acts TBA); Century Park

Saturday, July 20

• 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.: Carnival hours; (day and evening wristband specials "TBA")
• 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Free crafts, face painting (festival organizers suggest getting inline early, though it's worth the wait) and balloon animals; under the big tent
• 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.: Bingo
• 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.: "TBA"
• 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.: BoDeans performance (with Trippin' Billies)

Sunday, July 21

• 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Carnival hours; (wristband special "TBA")
• 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.: Free crafts, face painting (festival organizers suggest getting inline early, though it's worth the wait), balloon animals, petting zoo from All the Fun in One, kids game show and fun with A-Z Entertainment; under the big tent
• 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.: 7th Annual Bags Tournament; Century Park: Register online!
• 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Cream a Cop Fundraiser; $5 a plate benefiting the 100 Club of Chicago.
• 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Vernon Hills "Idol" Karaoke on the Big Stage: Register online!

Carnival tickets cost $1 for one ticket, $20 for 20 tickets and $40 for 44 tickets.
