Vernon Hills woman testifies against man who stabbed her 20 times
Woman described an "explosion" of blood after being stabbed in the neck by her co-worker.

On Tuesday in Lake County Court, 26-year-old Katie King described how a co-worker repeatedly stabbed her, according to the Daily Herald. King said she was sitting in a car with Daniel Dion on the evening of January 8, 2015 when he attacked her with a knife.
Assistant Lake County State's Attorney Lauren Kalcheim-Rothenberg told the jury that Dion stabbed King 20 times all over her upper body with a 4-inch serrated knife. Her injuries reportedly included two punctured lungs. Rothenberg said that Katie King was able to escape her attacker, and Dion was apprehended by police.
Daniel Dion is being charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery. He faces an additional charge of witness harassment for a letter he allegedly sent King from the Lake County Jail.
