Vernon Township Hosts Fundraiser at Buffalo Grove Wendy’s December 16
Area residents can make purchases through the drive-thru, place a carry-out order or eat in.

Vernon Township is partnering with Wendy’s, 300 W. Half Day Road in Buffalo Grove, to raise funds for the Township Food Pantry this holiday season. Customers that visit the restaurant on Saturday, December 16 from 6 a.m. - midnight, must show the fundraiser flier found at Facebook.com/VernonTownshipIL/ when they order to ensure that 30% of their purchase price is donated to the Food Pantry.
Customers can make purchases through the drive-thru, place a carry out order or dine at the restaurant. Wendy’s gift cards and other retail purchases are excluded from the event.
“The holidays can be financially stressful for many of our residents and food pantry usage normally increases between Thanksgiving and New Years,” said Township Supervisor Jonathan Altenberg. “This is why we continue to host fundraisers to ensure there is enough food in the pantry to serve our residents in need, and Wendy’s is providing a very generous 30% donation of sales to help us reach this goal.”

This fundraiser is part of Wendy’s “Give Back” program that takes place in communities where its restaurants are located. In addition to hunger and food integrity, other supported causes include foster care and adoption, and support for youth and families.
For those unable to participate by purchasing from Wendy’s on this date, the Township can accept credit card donations through PayPal. Donors can make a one-time donation or become a monthly or annual donor to help neighbors in need. Visit https://vernontownship.com/157/Food-Pantry to donate.
