VHHS Students, Teachers Travel to Uganda
Vernon Hills High School students and staff are spending part of their summer vacation supporting a school in Uganda.

A team of Vernon Hills High School students and teachers are currently in Uganda visiting and supporting the COVE school. Since 2008, VHHS students and staff have sponsored fundraisers to help build and continue to support the COVE school.
While in Uganda, team members are participating in a number of activities including leading a teacher workshop on Cooperative Learning for 24 Ugandan teachers. VHHS teachers and students taught the primary classes all day while the Ugandan teachers were in the workshop. The U.S. delegation also visited the children sponsored by VHHS.Β
βThe group has grown very close and I am so proud of their hard work, endless enthusiasm, and love for the people and children of Uganda,β said VHHS Principal Dr. Ellen Cwick. βEach day, they take off eagerly, looking forward to a new experience, whatever the day brings.β
