Approximately 500 Western Springsβ residents and District 101 educators came out to enjoy an evening of cocktails, silent and live auction bidding, dinner, live music and dancing. βWe were thrilled with the evening from beginning to end, and have our wonderful Co-chairs, Amanda Smith and Amy Rooney, as well as our entire Board of Directors to thank for their hard work bringing this event to the community,β said Kurt Frehner, WSFEE Board President.
The event raised $120,000 that will be distributed back to the school district for educational programs, projects and products that extend the quality and depth of education and provide students with unique learning opportunities, beyond typical district and PTO budgets. Teachers and parents from the District submit grants for innovative education enhancements that support classroom studies. Grants submitted support every aspect of education from the arts, science, technology and literacy, to social studies and physical education. District 101 includes Field Park, Forest Hills and Laidlaw elementary schools and McClure middle school.
