5 Homes Planned For Western Springs Neighborhood
The houses would replace a longtime church, which closed.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – A developer is asking for Western Springs' approval to replace an old church with five houses.
St. James Lutheran Church, 5129 Wolf Road, is closed.
The property, which has been used for religious purposes since 1957, also connects to the cul-de-sac on Johnson Avenue. It is just north of Springdale Park in southwest Western Springs.

According to village records, R&M General Contractors proposes five new lots for single-family houses. The plan includes moving the cul-de-sac slightly to the south.

Last week, the village's Plan Commission recommended the Village Board approve the subdivision, with conditions.
The board's planning and zoning committee is set to review the matter at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Village Hall.
