Kelli O'Laughlin Murder Case Could Go To Trial After Feb. 13 Hearing: Report

John Wilson, charged with the 2011 murder of 14-year-old Kelli O'Laughlin in Indian Head Park, will return to court Feb. 13, the Doings Western Springs reported Friday.
According to the paper, prosecutors filed three motions to be argued Feb. 13, which, prosecutors said, would prepare both sides to go to trial. Wilson's attorney Michelle Gonzalez told the paper she does not expect the trial to start until April, the Doings reports.
After two years of back-and-forth in the courtroom on the case, an online petition was circulated in November, asking that Cook County Judge John Hynes put a stop to Wilson's "courtroom antics" and move the case to trial.

A major factor in the case's delays has been Wilson's indecisiveness on legal representation. He has changed his mind a number of times on who will serve as his defense counsel, and even represented himself for a period.
At an Oct. 18 hearing, Wilson asked that he be represented by Michelle Gonzalez and John Paul Carroll, his original attorneys in the case, and Hynes allowed the change.
