Delayed Work In Western Springs Resumes
Lanes will be reduced over the next few months, the village said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL β The state's improvement project for 55th Street in Western Springs will resume Monday, the village said. It had been expected to be done last fall.
To complete the job, 55th will be reduced from two lanes to one in each direction between Plainfield and Wolf roads, according to a Western Springs news release. Access to houses and businesses will continue, the village said.
The $9.5 million project aims to resurface 1.6 miles of 55th Street, modernize traffic signals, build new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and extend the existing multi-use path on the north side of 55th from Brainard Avenue to Wolf Road, according to the news release.
