Juvenile's Facebook Threat Results in Disorderly Conduct Charge

A 15-year-old female juvenile fromΒ Hodgkins was charged with disorderly conduct at 11 a.m.Β after a Western Springs police investigation confirmed she published a post on herΒ Facebook page in which she threatened to damageΒ Lyons Township's south campus, alarming schoolΒ officials that reported the post,Β police said.Β 

The statement did not pose an "imminent or credible danger" to anyone, police said. The juvenile was released to a parent and referred to juvenile court.

"Our investigation confirmed the juvenile had no intention on causing damage to any part of the school at any time," deputy chief Brian Budds said in an email.

MONDAY, NOV. 4

Unlocked Bike Stolen


An unknown person stole a $100 bike that was left unlocked at the public bike rack at the Western Springs train station between 7:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m., police said.Β 

Suspended License


Babatunde A. Akintayo, 30, of the 400Β block ofΒ 156thΒ Place,Β Calumet City, was charged with driving while license suspended, driving without insurance and without a front license plate, police said, after a traffic stop for not displaying a front license plate near the intersection of Ogden and Howard avenues at 1:20 p.m.

He was released on bond with court information.
