Four Arrested in Connection with Car Thefts, Burglaries in Western Springs: Police
Police are "very confident" the arrestees were involved in the recent rash of car-related crimes in the village.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — Police have arrested a man and three male juveniles in connection with a recent string of car thefts and burglaries in Western Springs.
Western Springs police, with the help of Chicago police and other suburban agencies, tracked down a stolen 2010 Audi Q5 around 2:25 p.m. July 27 in the area of the 5500 block of Wells Street in Chicago, according to Western Springs police.
The car had been reported stolen on July 26 from the 800 block of Elm Street in Western Springs.

When Western Springs police detectives tried to pull over the car for an investigative traffic stop, a man and three male juveniles got out of the car and ran away on foot, police report.
All four people were arrested near Interstate 94 and Wells Street in Chicago. The man, who has not yet been identified, was charged by Chicago police with unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. The juveniles were each charged with unlawful trespass to a motor vehicle, police reported.

The Western Springs Police Department is "very confident these arrests and suspects were related to the car burglaries as well," according to a statement. The man and the juveniles did not acknowledge any involvement in the burglaries, and they were not in possession of any of the items reported stolen from the cars, police reported.
