Goombay Bash Ready to Rock Navy Pier

Party at the Goombay Bash: The H Foundation has raised more than $4.5 million for cancer research since 2001. More than a decade later, its signature event—the Goombay Bash—is still going strong. Celebrate this Saturday at Navy Pier with Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls and a Caribbean-themed casino.

Bless your pets: Pets need a little love from above, too. The Village Church of LaGrange Park, 1150 Meadowcrest Road in La Grange Park, knows that and will be holding its pet blessing from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Any type of animal is welcome as long as you don’t let it run wild. Can’t bring your four-legged friend? The church will bless an item that represents it instead.
