How Much Western Springs Residents Are Paying
The village responds to a question about where the money for the lead service line project is coming from.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL β The other day, Western Springs released numbers that indicated its replacement of lead service lines would cost $11.5 million over a dozen years.
Patch asked the village where the money is coming from. Its spokesperson responded.
"I've confirmed that at this time, no costs will be directly charged to any homeowner," Selmin Cicek, the communications manager, said in an email. "The Village is utilizing a 0% interest loan from the (Illinois Environmental Protection Agency) Public Water Supply Loan Program. The loan will be repaid via the Water Fund. The Village will be applying for similar loan funding annually."
