Indian Head Park Mom Saves Son from Burning House
The woman's teenage son was sleeping and was not woken up by smoke alarms when the family's house caught fire earlier in January.

A resident of Pontiac Drive in Indian Head Park saved her son from their burning home earlier this January, The Doings Western Springs reports.
According to the paper, the unnamed mom returned home at about 4:40 p.m. January 11 to find her house filled with smoke from a fire that started in the living room and spread all the way to the attic; she raced into the house and woke her napping son, who was not roused by the smoke alarms.
The fire "certainly does not appear suspicious" and the home "is not habitable," Pleasantview Fire Protection Chief Kevin Doyle told the paper.
