La Grange citizen petitions village for craft breweries, distilleries

A La Grange citizen wants to see the village’s zoning laws modified to allow craft breweries and distilleries with a tasting room and he has taken to the internet to gather support for his petition drive to get the ordinance changed, according to a story in the Chicago Tribune.

“There’s absolutely the market here in La Grange,” John Janowski, the organizer of the petition drive, said in the Tribune story. “When you look at that demographic of younger families, they are all about it. It’s their expectation.”

Janowski has had some success. The La Grange Plan Commission will talk about possible changes at a workshop session at 7:30 p.m. July 14 at Village Hall.
