LTHS Teen Subject of Aggravated Battery, Attempted Robbery Outside of School Last Week: Cops

The boy was able to get away without being injured or robbed.

A 15-year-old Lyons Township South High School student was the subject of an attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery last Thursday, Western Springs police announced in a release.

The teenager was reportedly sitting alone on a bench outside of the school’s main entrance when two adult men approached him. One continued walking past the bench, police said, but the other sat down next to the boy.

The man who sat down demanded money from the teen. When he refused, the man reportedly lifted his coat to reveal a black object that police believe could have been a weapon.
