“Our first MayFest was a big success,” said WSHS President, Vicki Lezon, “We had well over 300 attendees and we heard such positive feedback that we’re bringing the event back this May. It’s a historical “fun fair” for residents and a way to celebrate the Village of Western Springs and its unique community spirit.”
The afternoon will feature old-fashioned carnival games, classic entertainment, food and crafts. Games will include nostalgic favorites like bean bag toss, krazy kans, and a scavenger hunt. Entertainment will feature a magician, Maypole dancers, Lively Arts Dance Academy, and the Western Springs-based Allegro fiddle and dance ensemble. Food will include lemonade, popcorn, cotton candy, cookies and an old-fashioned candy table while craft tables will offer boys and girls the opportunity to create crafts from another time.
