UPDATE: Duke the Dog has been Found

After 15 days on the loose, Duke reunited with his owner, Anne, Wednesday night at the Salt Creek Tennis Club in Hinsdale.

For more than two weeks, the community has tried search parties and humane traps in an attempt to bring Duke the dog home.

But what finally did the trick was catching sight of a little piece of home.

Duke ran to his owner Anne Wednesday night as she waited near the Salt Creek Tennis Club in Hinsdale while helpers from The Barker Shop lured him to the area with treats.

"I'mΒ so excited I can't type the story!!!!" reads a post on The Barker Shop's Facebook page. "Duke immediately came to Anne, and is in the car now - GOING HOME!!! YAHOO!!!"Β

Duke, a mixed-breed dog, has been missing for a week from his home in the Commonwealth subdivision in Western Springs.

Most sightings have been in an area east of Madison and north of Ogden in Hinsdale. He’s been spotted several times in Hinsdale since then but has reportedly traveled as far north as Fullersburg Woods and as far south as 55th Street.

Duke is a skittish dog and will likely run if you approach him.Β If you see Duke, call his owner Anne at 708-623-3253 or The Barker Shop at 708-354-0400. The Barker Shop is helping to coordinate search efforts. Visit its Facebook page for more details.
