Nazareth Academy Student of the Week: Ivory Kelly-Martin

'I wish more fans could see how humble, modest and respectful he is off of the field.'

Submitted by Nazareth Academy.

Ivory Kelly-Martin has been named the Nazareth Academy Student of the Week. He is Class of 2017, of Murphy Junior High in Plainfield.

“It is obvious to all who see him play that Ivory is an incredible, game-changing player. I wish more fans could see how humble, modest and respectful he is off of the field. He takes time to greet young kids at games; he praises the efforts of his teammates; and most importantly, he represents Nazareth’s four pillars on and off the field.” said Tim Racki, head football coach and dean of students.

I dedicate my time outside of classes to Football. When not playing or practicing, I’m visiting prospective colleges where I can continue school and football.

What’s your favorite thing about Nazareth?

Nazareth has the best teachers, coaches and students. We are a real family.

What are your post high school plans?

I’m still undecided, but have college offers from the University of Wisconsin, Illinois State University and Indiana State University.

Please choose one of Nazareth’s Four Pillars (Scholarship, Service, Spirit, Unity) and describe what it means to you?

The pillar of spirit means showing excitement for your school or school teams. I experience it on Friday nights or Saturday afternoons when the fans are going crazy to see some great Naz Football.

What’s one thing people might not know about you?

Most people don’t know that I was a model when I was 5; I modeled old-time clothes that looked like something George Washington would wear.
