New for the New Year at Thomas Ford Memorial Library
New for you: an app, a Winter Reading Challenge, a Village Read including a free Edgar Allen Poe book and two related programs

SWAN Libraries+ can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Our new app allows you to see your checkouts, search the catalog, place holds, keep wish lists and store your library card barcode for easy checkout. For more information on downloading and using the mobile app, click here. Questions? Ask our staff; they’re already happy users!
We also have special winter happenings you’ll want to consider:
5th graders through adults who sign up for our second annual Winter Reading Challenge will get a sampling of holiday chocolates. Everyone who reads three or more books by February 15 will earn a cozy knit cap.

In addition, the Library is in the mood for a truly chilling read this winter. We’re encouraging everyone to join The Village Read: pick up our collection of Edgar Allan Poe’s most spine-tingling tales and poems (free copies are available while supplies last). On January 31, we’ll have a thrilling program as Edgar Allan Poe, played by Terry Lynch, gives a biographical sketch of Poe’s life and retells some of his greatest works. And, on February 6, we’ll get together for food, fun, and great conversation about the book.
