The park district is not proposing any new parking for Spring Rock. According to a village memo, the park has nearly 300 parking spots nearby, and the village has not received any complaints recently about the situation.

In a letter, the league explained the reason for the added field.

"Over the past several years, our softball participation has steadily increased, reflecting the strength of our league structure, the dedication of our volunteer coaches and administrators, the quality of our facilities, and the support of the Western Springs community and Park District," Tom Olk, the league's president, said in the letter. "Due to this growth, we are now facing a shortage of field space."
