New Western Springs Restaurant Planned

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – An Italian restaurant plans to open inside the space that Vie Restaurant long occupied before closing this fall.

Ella's Italian Pub wants to open next year at 4471 Lawn Ave.

The new restaurant would be part of a larger restaurant chain that includes Ella's Italian Pub and Gia Mia restaurants in Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Wheaton, Geneva and Naperville.

The restaurant is seeking a liquor license from the village. According to the village, the business has received a demolition permit for the interior space.

Ella's Italian Pub's website says the restaurant offers Italian pub-style food along with an extensive wine list.

"Just like riding a Vespa across the streets of Rome, join us for an Italian culinary journey like no other," the website says.

Ella's Italian Pub includes menus on its site.

In May, Vie Restaurant announced it would close after 19 years. It said it was doing so because of "irreconcilable differences and dissatisfaction with our landlord."

Its final day was Oct. 21, according to Vie's Facebook page. The restaurant said it would open in a new spot in town.
