No Agent At Western Springs Metra Station Next Year
It's part of a plan at stations around the suburbs, a Metra official said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL β Next year, Metra will no longer staff the Western Springs train station with an attendant, officials said.
The agency is doing the same thing at other Metra stations, including those in Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills and La Grange, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis told Patch on Monday.
Vending machines will handle the job that attendants have done, he said.

"We have been phasing out ticket agents, essentially as they retire," Gillis said in an interview. "It's going to be a staged rollout. We can't put the vending machines in all the stations at once."
The village of Western Springs has recognized the plan to do away with the local attendant.
