Christians were a minority and the church was small and unimportant. As we negotiate changes in the church and our world today, Acts can be helpful to us. Join Chaplain Carol and friends as we study the amazing stories of Acts.

Friday, 5/6: Cruise to French Polynesia with Bill Helmuth, Dole Hall 3:00pm Our cruise around the world destination this month is French Polynesia. Bill Helmuth returns with an entertaining travelogue on his resent trip to this exotic local. Residents are welcome share any stories and memorabilia you may have and bring your passport for your stamp. Sample a treat from this country.

Join the Latte Theater as they present Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing! Our own Plymouth Place Players will also be performing. Though it is technically considered a comedy, many a Shakespeare enthusiast are perplexed, for Much Ado is also an emotional thriller, a love story, the examination of evil, and a tragedy with a happy ending as well - and truly defies categorization. Robert Pawlak returns with MONET AND MANET. Is there a difference? Do you have a favorite? The early Chicago movers and shakers collected a great deal of art including Monet and Manet. They donated much of their art work to the Art Institute of Chicago so most of the art we will be viewing is at the Chicago museum. Come and learn about the lives and art of these two very famous painters.

Tuesday, 5/17: Ballot Education In Service, Dole Hall 12:30pm-4:00pm
As part of Celebrating Seniors Week, the LaGrange/LaGrange Park Aging Well Team, headed by Ralph Gutekunst, is partnering with the League of Women Voters to provide a Ballot Education In Service to seniors in the greater community. LWV volunteers will be stationed around Dole Hall with laptops and iPads to review your voting rights as well as assistance that may be needed when you vote in November. You may also register to vote, change your address, etc.

Saturday, 5/21: Jeff Mishurβs Terracotta Warriors, Dole Hall 7:15pm
Art historian Jeff Mishur returns with a program on the current exhibition at the Field Museum of the Terracotta Warriors. Chicago hosts a rare tour of ancient Terracotta figures from the tomb of China's first emperor. In this slide lecture, art historian Jeff Mishur discusses the process used to create these figures. He also discusses other objects in this exhibition of ancient artifacts and their relationship to China's imperial past.
