Christianity can no longer be taken for granted as it was in the first half of the 20th century. Our society has become officially secular, religiously pluralistic, and ethnically diverse. We could describe the world of the Acts of the Apostles in much the same way. Christians were a minority and the church was small and unimportant. As we negotiate changes in the church and our world today, Acts can be helpful to us. Join Chaplain Carol and friends as we learn the amazing stories of Acts.

Saturdays, 4/2 & 4/9: SAVVY Caregiver Workshop, Education Room 9am-1pm

This program is designed to equip family members and others for the caregiving role.

Poet, artist and musician Ellen Zethmayr of La Grange leads this free workshop. Ellen is experienced in world religions, art and music education, and has used poetry as a way to journal and solve problems in the world around her. Experience using colored chalk with your words to create poetic artwork.

Representative of Fifth Third Bank will present current fraud trends targeting seniors. This very informative talk will discuss current phone and other scams that target seniors, how to handle them and protect yourself and your finances.

Popular Art Historian Jeff Mishur of Art Excursions returns to Dole Hall, presenting a vibrant slide-lecture featuring Van Gogh’s Bedrooms the current special exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Program is presented by Mary Beth Kepp, Executive Director. Come and learn how this organization has been helping clients with developmental disabilities since 1955. Helping Hand is this year’s Women’s Club philanthropy project. All Are Welcome to attend program.

The 27th annual Library Happening fundraiser will again present the popular dramatist, Barbara Rinella with a book interpretation you are certain to enjoy. Join us as Barbara transports us all to another time and place in her marvelously entertaining fashion. Two performance times are 10:30am & 2:00pm. Tickets are required. Donations encouraged. Tuesday, 4/26: Generations-Securing Your Care Preferences, Dole Hall 7:15pm A Family Education Program: Securing Your Care Preferences. You probably have a living will and power of attorney, but do your children and adult grand-children? Bring them to this event so that you can have a family discussion about important end of life matters.
